High Five for Friday!

Happy Friday!!  This is going to be a great weekend, I can already tell.  We have lots going on, and I’m looking forward to a weekend full of fun.  This week hasn’t been too shabby either.  Here are some highlights:

1.    Doug and I are going on an anniversary getaway to Utah in a couple weeks.  I finally booked our rooms for the trip on Tuesday.  I’m pretty excited about a weekend away with my husband, but it’s the first time we’ll be leaving Drew, so I’m also a little nervous.  My parents are coming to watch him, so I know he’ll be in great hands, but I’m going to miss him like crazy!

2.    One of our good friends from Oregon was in town this week on business.  It had been quite some time since we’d seen him last, so it was really great getting a chance to catch up.  He’ll be going to the football game this weekend too, so that will be fun!

3.    This weekend is MSU’s homecoming.  The Cats play Northern Arizona on Saturday, and it’s our weekend to do the tailgate food.  We’re making chicken tacos because they are both easy and delicious.  It should be a great game, I’m sure it will be a fun day, and hopefully the Cats come out of it with a win!

4.    SNOW!!!  It finally snowed on Thursday.  I don’t think it will stick around long, but it was sure fun to see a few flakes in the air.

5.    I’m so thankful for group text messaging this week.  We’ve had a lot going on (my parents and sisters), and it’s been so great to have the ability to all talk together via text. It’s hard to imagine what we did before that, but I’m sure communicating would not have been as easy.  The advancements in technology like group text messaging, Facetime, social media, and email has made it so much easier to keep in touch, and I’m not sure I could live away from home without these things to help me feel connected to my family.  I’m going home for a visit next week, and I CAN’T WAIT!!!

Hope you all have a great weekend too!!
