High Five for Friday

Well folks, it’s Friday already!  I’ve been a bit behind all week, but here it is.  I wasn’t going to do a High Five for Friday today because I had a really tough day yesterday after being attacked and feeling like I was hit by a Mack truck.  But I’ve decided to move past the unkindness and review what I’ve been thankful for this week.  It is the season of love and generosity after all.

1.    Drew has been sick, which isn’t necessarily a highlight of the week because I hate when he doesn’t feel good, but that has made him extra cuddly, which I love.  There’s nothing better than snuggling with your sweetheart, and I’ve had more snuggle time this week than I’ve had in a while!

2.    Now that we’re back from Hawaii, it’s time to get in the Christmas spirit.  I’ve slowly been working my way there all week, and this festive manicure helped out.  December is always a busy month, full of time with family and friends.  It truly is the best time of the year!

3.    I am thankful for the kindness and support of my family more than ever this week.  I love them dearly and am so thankful to have such good, positive people in my life.  They remind me of who I am, and that it’s okay to be different.  We all need strong, supportive people in our circles who let us be ourselves and love us just the way we are.

4.    The snow!  I know I wasn’t that happy about it when it diverted my flight on Monday, but what can I say, I just love snow.  It makes everything beautiful and gets me in the mood for the holidays.  But I have to say, I’d take a few more degrees out there!

5.    I picked up some supplies for a new craft this week.  It feels like it’s been forever since I’ve made something, so I’m excited to get to work.  It’s always fun to make something yourself and let your creativity flow.  I don’t have much, but I try!  Now I just hope it turns out.

Well, there you have it.  It’s been a week of ups and downs, but I’m not letting it get me down.  As Ellen always says, be kind to one another!

In other, more devastating news, I learned that some family friends lost their sweet baby girl after just two weeks of life last night. Words can’t describe the hurt in my heart for them.  I can’t imagine what they are going through.  Especially now, after having Drew.  I’m not sure there could be a deeper pain.  So yes, I had a crummy day yesterday when I was attacked by the very people that are supposed to care about me, but that pales in comparison to what this poor family is going through.  I wish them love and support from those closest to them, and a family that sticks by them through it all.  Sending love and prayers to the Blacks.
