Hay Mazes, Football, and Fun!

We had an eventful, fun weekend around here.  Friday afternoon we were planning on going to the hay maze, but we found out that it didn't open until the evening, so we decided to run some errands instead.  We had a mid-afternoon happy hour at The Bay. Doug and I had some drinks and dragon tenders and Drew had an apple juice and yogurt raisins!  His favorite afternoon snack!  After our happy hour, we had to go to the grocery store to pick up some things for the tailgate as we and some friends were in charge of food this week.  After that, we decided to have dinner at Santa Fe Reds.  I don't have much documentation of that because it went very poorly.  Little Avery decides to be a handful when we go out to eat sometimes, and Friday night was one of those times.  Needless to say, Doug and I were happy to get the kids to bed Friday night!

Hanging out waiting for dad to get home Friday afternoon.

Drew said he needed his "car helmet" to run errands!

Happy hour at The Bay.

Juice and yogurt raisins!

Drew thought we had too many buns and he couldn't fit! Ha!

This is what she looked like after crying all through dinner.

Little stinker!

Happy to finally have the kids to bed!

Exhausted!

Saturday morning, we had quiche for breakfast.  Doug has been bugging me to make a breakfast quiche for a while so I finally obliged.  After breakfast, we went to the Montana Maze.  It was so fun!  It was the perfect day.  The weather was great (even a bit hot, which is unusual for early October in Bozeman!) and the kids had so much fun.  The object of the maze was to find your way to four different colored crayons to color in the circles of your card and then make your way out.  Drew loved finding the crayons and coloring in the circles, but I think he was a little confused by the whole thing.  The dead ends didn't make any sense to him and he never quite grasped what we were doing!  He was still enthusiastic about it, just like he is with everything.

Canadian bacon and mushroom breakfast quiche!

Quick family selfie, or "felfie" as we like to call it, before heading to the maze!

We found them all!

After making our way out of the maze, we collected our candy prize for finding all four crayons and then made our way to the other activities.  There was a free hay ride pulled by a tractor, that was pretty fun.  Doug and Drew went on a train ride, which was probably Drew's favorite activity.  The kid LOVES trains and riding them is his absolute favorite! He also got to play in a bin of corn, which was kind of neat.  We got some good pictures by the hay bales and pumpkins, and finally decided to call it a day.  It was a fun activity that I've always wanted to do in the Fall and we've never actually done it.  I could see us making it an annual tradition.  It's always fun to experience new things in your community and we sure had fun at the hay maze!

Great views from the hay maze!

I love my family!

Saturday night was another Bobcat game.  Doug and Drew went to the game and Avery and I stayed home because it was super hot!  We tried to make it for awhile, but she and I were sweating all over each other in the Ergobaby, and she doesn't really like being in it on a good day.  So we went home and watched on TV.  It was a great game and the Cats won, so we were all happy with that Saturday night.

Sunday morning, we decided to get a treat.  We went to Granny's Donuts, which is a donut shop that we had never been to before.  It's kind of a cult favorite here, and it was absolutely packed.  We tried three different donuts.  Drew got to make his own sprinkled one, and we also got a maple bar and a chocolate glazed donut.  They were all delicious and I could see us going there again soon.  Yummy!

Sunday was much colder than Saturday, so we spent the day running errands and going to some new places that we hadn't been to before. It was a good day.  Sunday evening, we had a family birthday party at Doug's brother's house for our sister-in-law.  It was fun for the cousins to get together and Drew always loves celebrating a birthday!

It was a good weekend.  I'm always sad to see them go.  We always have so much fun when the four of us can be together.  I guess I know where the saying, "living for the weekends", comes from!
