Hiking the M!

Drew and I decided to go for a hike yesterday.  I probably should have checked the temperature before heading out to haul my 25 pound child up a mountain on my back!  It was HOT! We survived though and had fun getting out and doing some hiking.

We have a nice hiking backpack, and while Doug usually wears it when we all go, it fits me too.  I really love it!  It has great pockets and does just about anything we would need for a day on the trails.  I'm pretty pleased with our purchase (it's the Osprey Poco Plus, if you're wondering!). Even though it's a pretty sweet pack, it's still quite the load when Drew is in it.  I have to say it was hard work, but that's okay since I was kind of going for a workout in addition to an afternoon hike.  It was fun and I hope we can get out and do it again soon.....only hopefully when it's not 90 degrees outside!

Stadium Movie Night!

Wow, it's been a busy July.  Sorry I've been a little MIA.  We have been traveling and just extremely busy for the entire month of July.  I realized yesterday that this upcoming weekend will be the first that we've had in Bozeman in over a month!  Crazy, I tell you.  I'm looking forward to some time at home and getting some much needed work done around the house.  Sometimes it's nice to have a weekend at home!

We sure had a fun night last night.  MSU hosted a movie at the stadium night.  It was free of charge and families were invited to sit on the field turf and watch Monster's University.  We knew that Drew would not be overly interested in the movie, but we wanted to go check it out anyway.  I've always wanted to go to a drive in movie and since they are few and far between nowadays, this was probably about as close as I'm going to get.

It was a beautiful night and such a fun event.  The field was packed with families sitting on blankets.  It was quite the site.  Just as we suspected, Drew was not much interested in the movie and wanted to run around and play in the back, so we did a little of that too.  It was just fun to get outside, and be in the stadium during the off season.  We had a blast and I sure hope they do it again!

After the movie, we came home and put Drew to bed.  It was a late night for him, but I think he had fun.  Doug and I decided to set up the Kammock that I got him for Father's Day.  We had the perfect spot on the patio outside our master bedroom.  We set it up and enjoyed the beautiful night in the hammock.  I think we will get a lot of use out of the Kammock.  It's easy to set up and pretty darn relaxing!

Ice Cream Treats!!

Oh summer!  Is there anything better than a cold treat on a hot day?!  Ice cream and popsicles, DQ Blizzards and Dilly Bars, so so delicious!  I recently tried a new ice cream bar and I am in LOVE.  Like seriously, one of the best things I've ever eaten!  I'm not usually an ice cream bar kind of girl, but this one is oh so good!

Have you seen the commercials for Magnum Ice Cream bars?  There's one where Rachel Bilson is stuck in a traffic jam and she walks over all the cars to get to the ice cream truck where she enjoys a delicious caramel, chocolate ice cream bar.  Well, that commercial has pulled me in for years honestly.  I've always thought, wow, that looks good, but for some reason never got around to trying one.

I finally gave one a shot last week for the first time, and oh boy was it heaven!  It was rich and chocolatey, and caramely and oh so much goodness.  Wow!  The full size ice cream bars were a little rich for me and just a little too much, but then I found out they make minis!  Oh help me.  I think I will gain about 10 pounds just from mini ice cream bars this summer.  But honestly, I don't even care, that's how good they are!  If you're looking for a sweet treat, you should definitely try them.  LOVE!

Birthday Weekend!

It was Doug's birthday weekend this last weekend, so we had fun celebrating.  We started the weekend off right with the second art walk of the summer.  It was a beautiful night and we enjoyed walking around downtown, sipping some wine, and taking in the art.  It's truly one of our favorite summer time activities and we always have fun.

Saturday morning, we left for Doug's family's lake cabin.  We had a fun weekend at the lake celebrating Doug's birthday.  It was a beautiful, hot weekend....the perfect kind to spend at the lake.  Drew had so much fun playing in the water, kayaking, and even tubing behind the boat (going extremely slow of course!). It was fun to watch him.  He's growing up so fast.

Here are some pictures from the weekend.  I hope you enjoy!
