Weekend Rewind!

What a great weekend it was!  We packed it in and had a lot of fun doing it.  It sure was a good one!

Friday night we went to a friends' house for dinner.  They made us homemade pizza that was absolutely delicious, and we all know how much I like pizza.  It's my favorite!  Yum!

After dinner we headed downtown to go to the Art Walk. We had a great time checking out the art, having some wine, and of course, watching Drew dance.  He had quite the crowd gathered around him on main street while listening to a couple of guys playing on the street.  It was pretty cute.  He's a good dancer, and it's fun to watch him put a smile on so many faces as they watch him dance without a care in the world! Children are the best!

Saturday was a busy day.  Doug went for a bike ride in the morning and I stayed home with Drew and made my very first breakfast quiche.  As soon as Doug got home from biking, we had a little breakfast and then got ready to head to the football game.

We got to the tailgate about two and half hours before game time.  We chatted with friends and had some refreshments.  Both Doug and I were expecting that I would be leaving shortly after game time with Drew because we just didn't envision him doing too well being cooped up in the stands.  To our absolute surprise, he made it the entire game.  And I think he had lots of fun!  I should have known he'd like it because it's really just a bunch of people doing his very favorite thing.....yelling!  He loved watching all the adults yell, especially dad!  Anyway, the game went so much better than we were expecting as far as Drew being able to attend, so we were pretty happy about that.  The Bobcats won too, so that was great!

It was a bit of a later kickoff with the game starting at 3:30, so we didn't end up getting home until almost seven.  Drew was hungry and tired by then, so we fed him some dinner and put him to bed.  I had started some crockpot chili before we left for the game, so Doug and I ate after putting Drew to bed.  It was nice to already have dinner ready when we got home because those games really take it out of me and I never feel like cooking, or doing much of anything really, when we get home.

Sunday morning we decided to give the Sacajawea hike a go.  It takes quite awhile to get to the trailhead and you have to drive about 7 miles down a pretty rough road, but we finally made it.  It was a pretty nice day, but a little windy.  We made our way up the mountain, and we got into a little snow, but it wasn't too bad.  We made it to the ridge and had about a mile left to the peak, but it was so windy up there, and a little cold, that we decided to head down after reaching the ridge.  Drew was not liking the wind, so we figured it was best to head down.  We had a yummy picnic lunch about halfway down, which was fun.  We've sure liked having so many picnics the last month and a half!  After getting back down to the car, we checked out Fairy Lake, which is a lake right at the trailhead for the Sacajawea hike.  It's a beautiful mountain lake, made even more beautiful with the dusting of snow on the mountains!

After hiking, we had to do some messing around with Doug's phone (he broke the screen again), which is never pleasant, but we made the best of it.  We treated ourselves to dinner at Ale Works after the phone fiasco, and then had a quick cider at Lockhorn Cider.  Once we got home, Drew crashed pretty quickly because he was exhausted from the big weekend.  After he went to bed, Doug and I enjoyed a camp fire on our back patio.  What a great way to end a great weekend!
